The Church needs leaders who are being formed.
The Church does not only need people willing to lead. It needs leaders whose biblical knowledge, personal character, relationships, and ministry skills have been developed together.
NorthStar is a two-year, hands-on leadership formation experience for committed members of 17:6 Network churches. Participants grow in their ability to understand and handle Scripture, walk with God intentionally, relate to others, share their faith, serve faithfully, and lead within the local church.
More than a class.
NorthStar combines interactive training, one-on-one and small-group coaching, personal study, social connection, and real ministry responsibility. Participants connect what they are learning with the pressures and opportunities of everyday life.
The result is more than increased knowledge. NorthStar helps churches develop leaders who are grounded in the Word, shaped by Kingdom Values, invested in people, and prepared to carry meaningful responsibility.
What the commitment includes.
NorthStar consists of eight six-week courses over two years. Each course includes online learning, training meetings, coaching, social connection, a seminar or experiential training event, and hands-on service in church life.

For pastors
Developing people where they are known.
NorthStar gives pastors a proven pathway for identifying and developing lay leaders without requiring staff to build an entire leadership curriculum from the ground up. Because the content and structure are established, pastors and coaches can spend less time creating materials and more time developing people.
NorthStar is offered through participating 17:6 Network churches. Participants are committed members who serve, contribute, and are ready to take meaningful responsibility for their growth and the mission of their church.
